Guadalajara/ Tlaquepaque/ Lake Chapala

We flew to Guadalajara on Jan 15 and made it to our B&B in Tlaquepaque, a lovely spot with very warm and helpful (and English speaking) but I didn't get any photos. This smaller, more manageable city of Guadalajara is a tourist hub and we fell for it. Good food, interesting shops, good music and of course lots of color:

One of those days I met up with Urban Sketchers in Guadalajara at El Templo Expiatorio, perfect sketch site with a big plaza and a beautiful church. They treated me like a celebrity, being from Seattle, birthplace of Urban Sketchers.

Lake Chapala is another community close to Guadalajara. We took a bus there for a pleasant Sunday afternoon. It was a nice break from the intensity of the city.

Table-side guacamole is a thing... and delicious.
